Managed district energy
Vattenfall is a leader in the development and operation of district heating across Europe, providing heat to 2 million customers.
In the UK market since March 2018, we aim to be the partner of choice and bring Managed District Energy Solutions to our clients. We can deliver large, complex district energy projects with our engineering expertise, operational and management excellence and outstanding consumer services.
We work with cities, developers, engineering consultancies and the supply chain to offer long-term and sustainable solutions.
Fossil free engineering
Our engineers are focussed on developing the solutions needed to decarbonise the way we heat our homes and buildings in the UK.
A partner to the City of Amsterdam, we operate and develop one of the leading heat networks in the world, bringing fossil free innovation to its growth. With a 75% carbon emission reduction achieved already, district heating is the new normal.
Fossil free by 2030
Uppsala in Sweden has ambitious climate goals - fossil free by 2030 and climate positive by 2050. As its energy partner, Vattenfall is working with local stakeholders to take a global approach to the city's energy system and its residents' energy consumption.
Reducing Emissions in Berlin
In 2009, Vattenfall and Berlin agreed on a wide-reaching climate protection agreement to reduce Vattenfall’s CO2 emissions in the city centre by 50 percent by the end of 2020, compared with levels in 1990. Vattenfall reached this goal in late 2017 – three years ahead of schedule.
