Growth in wind creates 130 new jobs at Vattenfall

Vattenfall’s transformation towards a new energy landscape comes with a positive impact on employment figures in Business Area Wind. In total, 130 jobs are to be filled within the next twelve months and will offer interesting career opportunities to young talents and professionals.

Vattenfall is investing 5 billion euros in the expansion of wind and other renewable energy production. Offshore Projects like Sandbank in Germany, Aberdeen in UK or HornsRev3 in Denmark, as well as the company’s first large-scale solar project in connection with an onshore windfarm, are visible elements of Vattenfall’s strong ambition to expand the wind capacity every year by 400 to 600 MW.

With this growth, Vattenfall creates new jobs in commercial and technical areas and has already begun the hiring process for these new positions. More than 600 employees are working today in Renewable energy projects within the Business Area Wind.

“We are in a very exciting phase in Vattenfall and the energy industry at the moment. The energy transition is already well under way and we need to build up new competencies and recruit new talent to help us achieve our ambitious goals. Vattenfall has over 100 years of experience in the energy business and is at the forefront in Europe’s energy transition into Renewables, especially in offshore wind. We offer an exciting work place where people can contribute to building the future energy landscape and we know that great people make all the difference,” says Lamin Faye, Head of HR & HSE for Business Area Wind.

Vattenfall is especially looking for specialists in areas like Commercial, Engineering, Project Management or Site Operations.
