Vattenfall is a leading European energy company with approximately 20,000 employees. For more than 100 years we have electrified industries, supplied energy to people's homes and modernised our way of living. We now want to make fossil-free living possible within one generation.

CO2 roadmap

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Greenhouse gas emissions need to stop by the second half of this century if we are to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius. Tremendous effort is being put into limiting global warming even further, with the goal of an additional 1.5 degrees. Meeting this target requires the world to stop all CO2 emissions between 2030 and 2050.

The graph shows how Vattenfall's emissions have changed over time, as well as our forecast for the near future.

Horns Rev 3

Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm, which is located 25 to 40 km off the west coast of Jutland, will generate around 1,700 GWh annually, thereby increasing Danish electricity generation from wind by around 12 per cent.
