Clifton Marsh Solar
A solar project proposal located in Lancashire.
The proposal
Clifton Marsh Solar is a proposal for a solar farm that could produce enough electricity to power the approximate annual domestic needs of 14,142 average households.
The project lies on low grade agricultural land, and a detailed design process was followed to make sure that the project was designed sensitively, minimising impacts on the environment.
Biodiversity Net Gain
The project will result in biodiversity net gain:
- 61.32% net gain for area-based habitats, a 14.20% net gain for hedgerow habitats and 11.75% for watercourse habitats;
- The habitat management will improve breeding bird habitat for a number of species, and benefit water quality.
Local benefits
Discussions have started with local community representatives on community benefit that could be delivered through the project. Ideas shared to date include new paths, improving local facilities, supporting young people and schools and improvements to local parks.
