Dava Way

‘The Dava Way is recognised as one of Scotland’s Great Trails and is unquestionable one of the country’s finest long-distance walking and off-road cycling routes. It follows the old Highland Railway for 24 miles (38km) between the historic towns of Forres and Grantown-on-Spey.’ The Dava Way website

The Ourack wind farm proposal access and site boundary interacts with the Dava Way. Vattenfall is committed to working with the Dava Way Association to minimis impacts on the Dava Way and, where possible, offer enhancements. To this end Vattenfall has made the following commitments:

  • Following construction leave a legacy of parking spaces on the site access road to increase accessibility to Dava Way;
  • Where the access road crosses the Dava Way the crossing will be designed to facilitate access for all Dava Way users with walkways delivered at a suitable gradient for disabled users and wheelchair access;
  • The section of the Dava Way in the immediate vicinity of the Ourack wind farm proposal will be resurfaced to an agreed standard following construction;
  • Grit/Gravel will be supplied at agreed locations on the Dava Way to assist maintenance work on the Dava Way following construction; and
  • A shelter for Dava Way users will be provided at location along the Dava Way following consultation with the Dava Way Association and residents.
