At Pride Parades, We Walk the Talk on Inclusion

At this year’s Pride events in Berlin, Amsterdam, and Stockholm, we proudly showed what inclusion means in action and sustainably. With a vibrant e-truck at the Berlin Pride Parade, an electrically powered boat sailing through the Amsterdam canals and a walking group joining the Stockholm march, colleagues from across the company came together to celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion.

Stephanie Hinton-James, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) at Vattenfall:
"At Vattenfall, Pride is more than a celebration – it’s a powerful expression of our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. By standing visibly with our LGBTQI+ colleagues, customers and communities, we affirm that everyone deserves to be seen, heard and valued. This matters – not just for society, but for business. Inclusion strengthens our culture, sparks innovation and keeps us relevant in a changing world. Led by our passionate Diverse Energy Networks and supported by our DEI Office, we’re building a future where unity drives progress and diversity is our strength."

Martijn Hagens, Senior Vice President, Head of Business Area Markets and Chief Diversity Officer within the Vattenfall Group:
“At Vattenfall, we believe that everyone has the right to be seen, heard, and valued, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background. For us, Pride is more than just a celebration; it's an important moment to show our solidarity with the LGBTQI+ community and to contribute to an inclusive society and workplace.”

Berlin

"We won't stop until everyone is heard!" is this year's slogan of the Berlin pride parade. Vattenfall was once again represented with its own electric truck this year. Hundreds of thousands of people celebrated together in Berlin on 26 July.

Tina Schindler, Customers & Solutions:

"At Vattenfall, we never tire of working for diversity, equity and respectful cooperation - not only internally, but also publicly. The pride parade in Berlin offers us the opportunity to actively live these values and show that we take responsibility for an inclusive world of work and society. I am proud and grateful to be part of this colourful, powerful moment today. It is inspiring to see how many people are standing up together for acceptance and equity. The energy here gives courage and shows how important it is to take a stance – even beyond today."

Pride Berlin

Amsterdam

This year our Vattenfall colleagues sailed with our e-powered Vattenfall Pride Boat through the Amsterdam canals during Canal Parade, part of the Amsterdam Pride festivities. Around 80 colourful pride boats sailed through Amsterdam’s World Heritage canals on 2 August.

Mario Giacomo Brach del Prever, Wind

“Sailing through Amsterdam Pride on Vattenfall’s boat was more than a party; it was a statement. Powered by love and glittered with joy, we showed the world that inclusion isn’t a checkbox; it’s a current we choose to flow with. I am proud to work at Vattenfall, a company which stands up for authenticity and empowers everyone to shine - at work and beyond.”

Pride Amsterdam

Stockholm

The Stockholm Pride Parade took place on the 2 August and is the biggest Pride parade in all of Scandinavia with around 50.000 participants in the audience. The parade marches through central Stockholm.

Linn Rejström, People & Culture:

"Pride means joy, celebration and inclusion to me, and I feel that this is extra important to embrace right now. In a hostile world with conflicts going on in so many places, we still need to let ourselves feel the positive parts of life as well. Being open, positive and active – seeing the opportunities instead of only the problems – these values are crucial for Vattenfall, and they fit perfectly with Pride as well. I'm happy and proud to be a part of Vattenfall, and during the Pride parade, representing Vattenfall together with so many brilliant colleagues, I feel it even more."
