Vattenfall’s acquisition of DELTA Energie final

The acquisition of electricity and gas sales company DELTA Energie B.V. by Vattenfall is now final. The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has given its approval and the works councils of both DELTA Energie and Vattenfall have given positive advice. The take-over of DELTA Energie by Vattenfall is therefore effective as of March 1st 2019.

DELTA supplies telecom services from DELTA Fiber Nederland BV and green electricity and gas from DELTA Energie. Vattenfall is only taking over DELTA Energie. Vattenfall is a strong partner for DELTA, and together the two companies will be able to take even greater steps to provide fossil free energy to customers. DELTA Energie will continue to operate from Zeeland as an independent company. The acquisition was announced on January 17, 2019.

Vattenfall

As one of Europe’s leading energy companies, Vattenfall is market leader in Northern Europe and energy supplier to both consumers and business customers. Since before, Vattenfall/Nuon also owns Feenstra and Powerpeers in the Netherlands. Vattenfall is a leading European energy company and a producer of renewable and low-emitting energy, in the Netherlands mainly from wind and solar. For example Vattenfall will build the world’s first subsidy-free off shore wind farm in the country. Vattenfall is already active in the province of Zeeland with a wind farm in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and as the main electricity buyer of one of the Netherlands largest solar parks in Middelburg.

Combination benefits for customers remain

DELTA Energies employees will continue to work at the Middelburg office. Current contracts for customers will remain unchanged, as will the combination benefits for both telecom and energy contracts. Delta Energie stores will remain open.

DELTA

DELTA Energie has 120 employees and 170 000 green electricity and green gas customers and has its base and large majority of customers in the province Zeeland in the south of the Netherlands.
