Vattenfall receives EcoVadis Platinum for its sustainability performance for the fifth time

Vattenfall has once again been awarded the Platinum rating from EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings. The 2025 result marks the fifth consecutive year that Vattenfall receives this top distinction, placing the company among the top 1 percent of over 150,000 companies assessed worldwide.

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies across four categories: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Platinum is the highest possible rating and is awarded only to companies with outstanding results across all themes.

“To receive the Platinum rating from EcoVadis for the fifth year in a row is an achievement we can all be proud of,” says Annika Ramsköld, Head of Sustainability at Vattenfall. “It reflects the dedication and deep engagement of our employees and shows that sustainability is truly embedded in how we operate as a business. For us, Sustainability is not a static goal – it is something we work on every day, across every part of the organisation. This recognition also supports our position as a trusted partner and responsible supplier.”

Sustainability is at the core of Vattenfall’s business strategy, and the company’s approach is aligned with international frameworks such as the UN Global Compact, UN Sustainable Development Goals and OECD Guidelines. This includes taking responsibility not only for its own operations, but also for the full value chain – from suppliers and subcontractors to customers and partners.

“Achieving our goal of a future where everyone can choose fossil free ways to move, make and live, means integrating sustainability into every decision and every part of our value chain,” says Ramsköld. “To be recognised by EcoVadis with the highest rating for five years running is a strong validation that we are on the right path – and that we’re continuing to make progress.”
