Sustainability reporting and rankings

Vattenfall strives to openly and transparently report on the most material sustainability topics.

Vattenfall’s Annual and sustainability report (ASR) is a report in which information about the company’s work with sustainability topics is described together with the company’s financial performance.

We have been reporting in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines since 2003. This means that we meet the disclosure requirements of the new GRI Universal Standards 2021 and have identified the aspects that are material for the company.

In addition, as a signatory of the UN Global Compact, we use the ASR as our main source of information for the Communication on Progress for the UN Global Compact (UNGC), and a cross reference between UNGC and the GRI can be found in the GRI Content Index. Furthermore, we disclose our climate-related risks and opportunities in accordance with recommendations of the Task Force on Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

As sustainability ratings are becoming an increasingly important consideration for investors as well as for business customers choosing energy suppliers, we engage with several sustainability rating agencies.
