Electrification as an enabler for fossil free living

Electricity has always been a key driver for social and economic progress. However, there is a long way to go in order to leverage its full potential.

The electrification of society and industry is growing at an exponential rate and can, together with the process of decarbonizing the energy sector itself, be a transformative tool that enables fossil free living within one generation.

To meet the demand for building, infrastructure and transports, whilst at the same time meeting climate targets, we need more electricity, not less. By bringing fossil free electricity to new sectors and contexts, we can contribute to economic growth and social progress whilst minimizing climate impact. This is why Vattenfall is in partnerships with industry, currently in Sweden but we also look for partnerships in all of our other markets.
