Vattenfall seeks 200 new talents in digitalisation and innovation

Vattenfall aims to take on 200 new employees for its IT operations until 2022, to develop smart, innovative services and solutions. The recruitment phase has started and in September a trainee program will commence.

"We want to see what we can do to contribute to a reduction in emissions and a more efficient use of energy. Digitalisation will play a major role in the energy transition, and smart IT solutions are essential. Our focus is on speeding up automation and to benefit from  the digital opportunities," says Anna Zolnowska, responsible Human Resources at Vattenfall IT.

Vattenfall has offices for the development and implementation of digital services in Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. The areas where skills enhancement is needed are; Big Data and Analytics, Internet of Things, and New Software Solutions.

Vattenfall is working to make fossil-free living possible within one generation, among other things by helping partners and industries to electrify transport and processes and thereby replace fossil fuels. Another important area is to make it easy for customers themselves to make a difference.

"Customers expect immediate information, an overview of their energy consumption and a fast response. Customer service and communication are increasingly moving from call centers to smartphone apps and internet-based solutions. We see a shift in skills in the long run and want to find and attract  the best and most highly-skilled people in IT," says Anna Zolnowska, responsible Human Resources at Vattenfall IT.
