Public & Regulatory Affairs

Vattenfall's ambition is to enable fossil freedom. We call on policy-makers to create the regulatory environment that will make this transition possible.

Public & Regulatory Affairs at Vattenfall supports the transition to a fossil-free society by engaging with policy-makers, regulators, industry associations and other stakeholders across Europe. We contribute knowledge and experience from the energy sector to help shape policies and market frameworks that enable electrification, strengthen competitiveness and energy security, and support long-term investment in fossil-free energy.

Our public affairs work covers a wide range of energy and climate policy areas, including electrification, security of supply, market design, permitting, renewable energy, nuclear energy and industrial decarbonisation.

Fossil freedom is at the core of Vattenfall's strategy. Achieving this ambition requires not only technological innovation and investment, but also effective regulation and well-functioning energy markets. The right policy conditions are essential to accelerate the energy transition across society, including in the transport, industry and heating sectors.
