German car dealers get complete electrification offer
Vattenfall and Castrol have partnered to offer electric-car chargers and lubricants to car dealerships in Germany.
Vattenfall constructs electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, powered with green electricity, and handles the customer billing side of the operations. Castrol supplies lubricants, including e-fluids, for EVs to car dealers in Germany and together, this partnership will offer an attractive combination to car dealerships.
The partnership began in January 2020, with the first e-charging station being installed at BMW dealer, STADAC in Ahrensburg near Hamburg.
"In addition to our complete range of specialist e-fluids for hybrid and electric vehicles, we can now offer our customers another solution for the electrification of their service stations. With approx. 15,000 charging points in Europe, Vattenfall is one of the leaders in the market. They can also supply car dealerships with photovoltaic charging systems and renewable electricity. We have a very competent full-service provider at our side." says Michael Hansen, Castrol Sales Director FWS Germany.
"With Castrol, we have now found a sales partner who not only shares our CO2 reduction goals, but also actively implements them with its customers through activities like the BP Target Neutral programme, and carbon neutral products like Vecton and the Professional range. The partnership with Castrol gives us access to a very large network and enables us to support car dealerships professionally. In the future, the e-charging stations will also be accessible to Aral fuel and charging cards, offering decisive benefits for the consumer," says Fermin Bustamante, Director Sales & Operations Vattenfall Germany.
The new offer from Vattenfall and Castrol complements Aral’s strategy to provide fast charging stations to the German market at appropriate fuel stations, while Vattenfall and Castrol are focusing on a tailor-made solution for car dealerships to meet changing consumer requirements.
