Ringhals jubilee 2014
Ringhals celebrates 40 years as an electricity supplier in 2014. The first kilowatt hour of electricity was generated at Ringhals in 1974. Since then the facility has generated no less than 775 billion kilowatt hours. This is enough to provide all the households in Sweden with electricity for over 30 years.
During 2014, we will highlight a selection of different events in our history and describe the development of Ringhals up until today and in the future.
Events include lectures that are being organised in cooperation with Varberg's Lecture Society and Campus Varberg. Another is an Open House at the Ringhals Infocentre, as well as a jubilee exhibition in Varberg's Cultural Centre – this exhibition links Ringhals' history with development in Varberg's municipality mixed with world events. A selection of art work from Ringhals' art collection will also be on display.
“Everyone in the municipality is welcome to partake in the festivities and celebrate with us, and at the end of the summer we hope to treat people to a 40-metre long cake,” says Ann-Sophie Gustavsson who is Events Manager.
