CO2 emissions

Million tons, 1990-2050 (forecast)

C – Ongoing transition to enable fossil free living within one generation.

CO2 roadmap

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Greenhouse gas emissions need to stop by the second half of this century if we are to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius. Tremendous effort is being put into limiting global warming even further, with the goal of an additional 1.5 degrees. Meeting this target requires the world to stop all CO2 emissions between 2030 and 2050.

The graph shows how Vattenfall's emissions have changed over time, as well as our forecast for the near future.
